     Title: Development Has Commenced

I have started development on my new portfolio site. I have not changed my site since college, so I think that it's about time.

I have learned a lot in the past couple years. In fact, I was just thinking today about how if I started the same program that went through in college today, I would breeze right through it and have the most fantastic work in the class. College vs. Real-life work is completely different. I find that I have a lot less stress and a lot more time now. I hope that you enjoy my new site (when I get it realeased) and you come back for more.

In case you're curious, I am building this site on CMS Made Simple to try it out for future client sites. So far I like it, but I'll let you know what I think of it when I finish the development process. I chose this system because it is a little lighter than Drupal, and more static content-driven than WordPress. I have not yet begun templating, but it looks like a breeze. My old site was completely custom. It was Flash that communicated with PHP to pull data from a MySQL database. I loved it when I built it (especially because I could build an HTML alternative without having to re-enter all of the content), but I had to do all administration through PHPMyAdmin. CMS Made Simple has a pretty slick admin interface that allows me to make less-clumnsy updates. So, hopefully I will actually keep this up-to-date.
